Megan McGrew, PhD, BCBA, LBA

Megan completed her undergraduate education at St. Mary’s College of Maryland with degrees in History and Philosophy and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She attended graduate school at Florida State University, where she received a Master’s degree in analytic philosophy (concentration: Contemporary Feminist Social Theory) and a PhD, also in analytic philosophy, with an area of specialization in Ethics and Moral Theory.

Her research began intersecting with psychological and behavior analytic literature during her doctoral work and she discovered a passion for using the science of behavior to create meaningful change in people’s lives. This influenced the trajectories of both her dissertation (“Moral Responsibility and Mental Health: An Interdisciplinary Project in Philosophy, Psychology, and Applied Behavior Analysis”) and her career moving forward. After gaining additional education in ABA through Florida Institute of Technology, Megan transitioned fully from academia to the world of clinical practice working first as a behavior technician, then as a BCaBA, and finally as a BCBA. She gained experience across therapeutic settings in Georgia, Alabama, and Colorado, prior to moving to Nevada in 2017.

Megan is the owner/CEO of Impact ABA Services, which opened its doors in January 2018, and provides in-clinic behavioral therapy in South Reno focusing on assent-based, neurodiversity-affirming care. Megan also served as president for the Nevada Association for Behavior Analysis (NABA) from 2021-2022 and will serve as past-president of NABA in 2023. Currently, Megan resides in South Reno, with her long-time domestic partner, Dave, and their 3 small dogs.

Megan believes strongly in the need for service providers to come together and work collaboratively across disciplines to improve the quality of care available to residents of Nevada and is excited to be able to help forward Desert Sage’s mission.
