Emily is a National Board Certified Teacher for the Washoe County School District. She is the social studies department chair and specializes in Psychology 101, Psychology, AP Psychology, and US History at North Valleys High School in Reno. She has taught in both California and Nevada for over 14 years where she was honored with Teacher of the Year at Gunderson High School in San Jose in 2016 and most recently named Nevada History Teacher of the Year for 2022 from the Gilder Lehrman Institute.

Emily attended the University of Nevada, Reno for her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education in 2009 as well as her Master’s Degree in Literacy Studies in 2012.

Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends, riding her peloton, interior decorating, and paddleboarding at Lake Tahoe with her husband and daughter.
